Historical Background
Montaigut le Blanc is a middle-aged village situated between Puys and Couzes. The term "couze",lower case, is a noun udes in the local patois to mean a mountain river going towards the lower plains.
The Chambon is such a river and passes through Montaigut, which is it self clinging to the puys de Gourdon and the Rodde.
This picturesque village is built on a rocky spur called Mons Acutus. Thetempliers, the chiel of whom was Pierre de Montaigu in 1216, left their mark on the castle and 12th century roman church.
Présentation
The house is situated on the site of an old priory which was the home of monks attached to the priory of Sauxillanges. The church square looks out on the valley below. The house has now been entirely renovated. The hostesse will welcome you in the midst of paintings and artworks.
The house features two guest rooms, a living room with library, separate guest entrance, a patio and garden together with a gite.
The bedrooms are on the first floor.One is a double with en-suite facilities with 3 épis and the other double witch is 2 épis has the added option of asecond bed and a separate ut private bathroom.
The garden is close to the church and has wonderful views to the castle and puy de la Rodde area. There is also a relaxing deck chair and table area for guests.
